Your guide to Korero Connect

Korero Connect lets you join group dance classes with other people who want to learn the same routine. You pick a class, tell us when you’re free, and we automatically build a lesson schedule that works for everyone. Here’s everything you need to get going.

What is Korero Connect?

Korero Connect is a dance-class booking platform built around group classes. Instead of booking a fixed timetable, you join a class with other learners and our system finds the lesson times that fit everyone’s schedule — yours, your classmates’, the instructor’s and the studio’s.

How a class works

Every class moves through the same simple journey. You can always see the current stage on the class page.

Matching

The class is open. People join and everyone shares their availability.

Matched

A schedule that works for everyone has been found. The instructor picks the final lesson dates.

Pending Payment

Everyone pays the remainder of their class fee from their balance.

Pending Confirmation

Payments are in. An admin does a final check on the booking.

Booked

You’re confirmed! Lesson dates appear on your calendar.

Completed

All lessons are done. Time to review your instructor.

Good to know. A class only gets confirmed if enough people join and a schedule can be found within the chosen date range. If it can’t, nobody is charged the full fee and any deposit is returned to your balance.

1. Create your account

Head to the sign-up pageand choose how you’d like to register:

  • Continue with Google— the fastest option. One tap and you’re in.
  • Email & password— enter your email, create a password, then confirm via the link we email you.

Already have an account? Use the login pageinstead. Forgot your password? There’s a reset link right on that page.

Tip. After signing up you’ll land in your dashboard. The navigation bar at the top is how you move between Browse, My Classes, Availability, Profile and Balance.

2. Set up your profile

Open the Profile page and add a display name and a photo. Your classmates and instructor will see this once a class is confirmed, so it helps everyone recognise each other on the day.

  • Add a clear display name (your real name or a nickname).
  • Upload an avatar so your class can spot you.

3. Class types & prices

There are three class formats. Each one has a fixed number of lessons and a fixed total price, shared per person.

Class typeLessonsEach lessonDepositTotal
No MV4 lessons60 minS$50S$100
Half Song8 lessons90 minS$50S$200
Full Song12 lessons90 minS$50S$300
  • Deposit— a small part of the total, paid up front from your balance to reserve your place while the class fills up and gets scheduled.
  • Total— the full price per person. After a schedule is locked in, you pay the remainder (total minus your deposit) to confirm your spot.
Good to know. Prices are per person and shown in Singapore Dollars (SGD). If a class is cancelled before it’s confirmed, your deposit is refunded to your balance.

4. Top up your balance

Korero Connect uses a prepaid balance. You add credit once, then use it to pay deposits and class fees — no re-entering card details every time.

  1. 1Go to the Balance page.
  2. 2Tap Top up balance and choose an amount.
  3. 3You’ll be taken to Stripe to pay securely by card or PayNow.
  4. 4Once payment succeeds, the credit appears in your balance instantly and you’re returned to the app.
Tip. Your full top-up and spending history is listed on the Balance page, so you can always see where your credit went.

5. Find & join a class

Open Browse to see every class that’s currently open and looking for members. Each card shows you the essentials:

The song and class format
Which studio it’s held at
The roles available and spots left
How many lessons are included

Joining

Open a class that interests you, pick the role you want to dance (roles are defined by whoever created the class — for example positions or parts), and confirm. Your deposit is taken from your balance to hold your place.

Heads up. Make sure you have enough balance for the deposit before you join. If you’re short, top up first on the Balance page.

Every class you create or join shows up under My Classes, where you can track its status and take any actions needed.

6. Set your availability

This is the most important step — it’s how the schedule gets built.

On the Availability page, mark the times you can attend lessons. There are two ways to do it:

  • Weekly availability— recurring slots like “every Tuesday 6–9pm”. Set this once and it repeats automatically.
  • One-off changes— block a date you’re away, or add extra availability for a specific day.
Tip. The more availability you give, the easier it is to find a schedule that works for the whole group — and the faster your class gets confirmed. Generous availability = quicker matching.

7. How matching works

The part that happens behind the scenes.

Once a class has its members, Korero Connect compares everyone’s availability — all the students, the instructor and the studio — and looks for lesson times that work for everybody.

  • It only suggests times when everyone is free and the studio is open.
  • Lessons are spread out across different dayswith rest in between — never two lessons crammed together.
  • Everything is scheduled within the date range the class was set up for.

When a workable schedule is found, the class moves to Matchedand the instructor picks the final lesson dates from the available options. If no schedule fits yet, the class stays open — adding more availability (or adjusting the group) usually unblocks it.

8. Pay & confirm your booking

After the schedule is locked in, each member pays the remainderof their class fee (the total minus the deposit you already paid) from their balance. You’ll be prompted right on the class page.

  1. 1Open the class from My Classes.
  2. 2Tap the payment prompt and confirm. Top up first if your balance is short.
  3. 3Once everyone has paid, an admin confirms the booking and the class becomes Booked.
Good to know. When a class is Booked, the confirmed lesson dates appear on your calendar, and you can see your classmates on the class page.

9. Attend your lessons

Your confirmed lessons show up on the Availability calendar as fixed blocks.
Each lesson lists the studio and time — arrive a few minutes early.
After all lessons finish, the class is marked Completed and you can leave a review for your instructor.

Create your own class

Can’t find the class you want? Start one and invite others to join.

From the Create a class wizard, you’ll set up the class step by step:

  1. 1Class type — No MV, Half Song or Full Song.
  2. 2Studio — where you’d like to dance.
  3. 3Song — the routine you want to learn.
  4. 4Roles— the positions in the class and how many people each one needs.
  5. 5Your role — which spot you’ll take.
  6. 6Date range— the window the lessons should fall within.
  7. 7Instructor— optionally assign one.

When you submit, your deposit is reserved and the class is sent for a quick admin review. Once approved, it appears on the Browse page for others to join.

Tip. As the creator, you can keep an eye on your class under My Classes, share it with friends, and watch the members and matching progress fill in.

A dedicated Teachingpage shows every confirmed lesson you’re scheduled to lead.

Public profile

A profile page introduces you to students with your bio, specialties and reviews.

Frequently asked questions

Do I pay the full price as soon as I join?
No. You only pay a small depositwhen you join. The rest is paid after a schedule is confirmed, so you’re never charged the full fee for a class that doesn’t go ahead.
What if a schedule that works for everyone can’t be found?
The class simply stays open. Adding more availability usually helps. If the class is cancelled, your deposit is returned to your balance.
Can I be in more than one class at a time?
Yes. Set your availability once and join as many classes as you like — matching takes all of them into account.
How do refunds work?
Refunds go back to your balance. See our Refund & Cancellation policy for the full details.
Is my payment secure?
Yes — all payments are processed by Stripe. Korero Connect never sees or stores your card details.
